$85.00 for a turbo, another ebay find. Has anyone had any experience with this item. I am not expecting real turbo power, but any extra would be great.

Looks like junk, plus the words "Electric and Turbo" don't go well together lol

Always remember, you get what you pay for. An electric turbo would only probably provide an power increase to the butt dyno but not an real dyno.

There is a true turbo that is used but supposedly in working order on there as well for about $200.

Even for $200 I would be wary. I do like turbos though...I loved my glh lol.

that would be a waste of money if the turbo kit is less than 600 to 700 dollars probably is junk hope this helps.

The ones for around 200 are for the turbo only, not the kit. There are actually several turbos on there, and many with 30 day guarantees. (at least it's something) I have actually heard of a couple of the companies before selling used turbos that were checked out, and if they had any problems repaired, before selling. Some are a little higher, but you might just get a heck of a deal if you carefully choose one.

How are you going to run a turbo of a N/A 2.4 with a 10.5:1 compression ratio? You could only a maybe get 5 pounds of boost before ignition detonation. What about the waste gate and the blow off valve what is going to control them? How would the VVT work with a turbo? Is the bottom end of a N/A 2.4 the same the turbo version?

I came from the SRT-4 / PT Turbo world and there is allot of stuff that needs to be addressed before you just bolt in a turbo. Here is a link to what Mopar did to beef up the SRT-4 engine back in 2003. http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/engine/113_0309_2003_dodge_neon_srt4_engine_overview/index.html

No one said you could just bolt one on, I only said you could find a stand alone turbo for around $200. You would need several things in addition to this to make it work, of course. I think we all know you don't just slap one on anything and you're done.

Sounds like too much work finding all the pieces separately. If they come out with a kit and several people buy it and don't have problems then I'll put down the money. I do want more power though, what can I say I'm a junkie.

I forgot to mention fuel management, from the factory a SRT-4/PT turbo runs pig rich with A/F ratios of 9-11:1. That is done to preserve the engine and reduce warranty claims. In contrast our N/A engines run the A/F ratios at stoichiometric which is 14.7:1 for the best gas mileage possible. The ECM will go rich when in FFV mode since stoichiometric for ethanol if 9:1 which contributes to the fuel mileage tanking.
