Sphinx 04-09-2008, 04:45 PM Don't be suprised if you get a couple tickets for that tint... It is pretty dark. Can you even see out of that at night? Looks great though!
300 Addict 04-09-2008, 05:29 PM It's amazing what a tintjob can do for any car. Your ride looks sweet with the new tint! Congratz!
josho66 04-09-2008, 09:35 PM WOW, those are dark. I would get so much hassle from the local cops for that. I am going to be pushing it putting 35% on the front windows. There can basically be no tint on the front windows in IA, it sucks. Your car looks great and so does the new tint job.
GrangaVenge 04-09-2008, 11:28 PM yeah i can see out of it just fine at night..it is only 10 percent ...i have buddies that roll around in limo tint and have never been pulled over...in indiana they do not really enforce it as long as they can see you when they shine their spot light inside your car for their safety..i am friends with alot of cops and i ask them what the "legal" percent in and he said as long as we can see what you are doing when we shine the spotlight in you are fine..
GrangaVenge 04-09-2008, 11:29 PM ps thank you all for the compliments!! i am pretty happy with the way the car is coming around
GrangaVenge 04-09-2008, 11:33 PM Wow I have been lying this whole time...the tint is 15 percent not 10 sorry for the slipup
Sphinx 04-10-2008, 12:50 PM Yeah, in MO we can only have 35% in the front, and what ever we want in the rear. I was trying to figure out what I was going to do for my car when the time comes. I was thinking 35% front, 20% back windows, and 5% rear window.
dodgeavenger4life 04-10-2008, 01:19 PM Here in leavenworth the cops carry a tint gun, if it shows it is too dark you have two options. Either get a ticket or you have to rip it off right there and then.
GrangaVenge 04-10-2008, 01:28 PM wow that is crazy ...i bet the cops LOVE that ha ha..where do u live? ill write that down soo i NEVR drive through there ha ha.....and sphinx..i do not know if you would want to put 5 on the back..unless you plan on replacing your bumper a few thousand times ha..it is SO difficult to see out the back on a five percent tint..especially at night

Tinting laws don't apply when your out of state :)

Remind me to never piss off the cops in your town.
Just a question:
If I am visiting another state and exceed their tint laws, does it matter?:4-dontknow:
The laws vary so much that I would assume they would only apply to vehicles with local registration.

You are correct Dave, once you are out of your state, due to all the different laws, you can not just get pulled over window tints, although I believe State troopers can give you a fine for them, but not just for window tinting alone you have to be speeding or something illegal, but I'm not positive. Maybe a law enforcement person can jump in :)

WOW, that is dark. Didn't know they made it that dark. Thought 5% was the darkest. You are lucky. Iowa sucks. You can't have anthing darker then 70% on the front windows, rear doesn't matter though. I am going with 35% on the front windows. Hopefully I won't get to much hassle since they aren't super dark.
