Bought an Avenger in October. Inferno Red R/T. Love this car. Tinted windows, drop-in K&N, mesh grill inserts, chrome roof trim, and side R/T badges. This pic is before I did the mesh, I will post it later tonight.

I'm loving it already. Welcome to Avengerforumz. The BEST forum for the Avenger on the web. Also check out the other BEST in their class, sister site forums. Charger, Caliber, Challenger, Nitro, Camaro, 300C... Just take a look at the very bottom of the screen. I can't wait to see the pictures you're uploading tonight. What % tint do you have on there now? look like it could be 20% or darker. WELCOME

Here is a shot with the mesh that I added a couple days ago, along with a shot of one of my wheels with the caliper painted. I painted all 4 red, and it really sets off the wheels and was easy to do. Thoughts on each?

Where did you get the mesh from and what kind is it? What did you use to attach it to the car?

The calipers look cool, but you have a red car. Mine is black, not sure if I want to do red calipers on the black car. I suppose I could do black, but i don't think it would add any appeal..

I got the mesh on e-bay. It was only like $15 shipped for 9' of it. I attached it with a real good hot glue that is clear, so it is hardly visible. The bottom was easy to do, but the top was a bit harder with the shape of the openings. Overall it was all easy though. The mesh cut easily with good scissors or kitchen shears. Obviously there are many styles of mesh out there, so what you choose is up to you, but 9' of the 8" wide mesh was just the right amount.

As far as the calipers go, red would look great on a black car. Just look at the SRT lineups, the come with the red calipers. Or if you want you could do yellow. Yellow and black look sweet. I got the kit at O'Reilly (I'm sure all the other auto parts stores have the same stuff) for $15 bucks, and it is a really good kit. Comes with all you need to do it, brush, tape, paint, caliper cleaner, and stir stick. Just take off the whell and go at it. The sell about 4 or so colors there. It is a ceramic based paint, and holds up very well and gets real hard and shiney.

Thanks for the info!

I have some red caliper paint already, as I did it this summer on my magnum before it was totaled. I think its too cold to deal with it now though.

I never thought about just buying some mesh and hot gluing it on... Did you have to take the bumper off to install that?

tele, that grill on ebay is selling for over 200. It would be cheaper for you to make one like markio did.

in the sumer time me and my dad washd my car and i was curious into how to take out the mesh its actualy cliped into the bumper so u just have to take out some pins at the top where the hood would b and just pull( warning if u try this its hard to put back together!!)

So I am supposing you can just reach down through the top to remove/install the inserts?

i dont understand wat ur question is, but if u open ur hood look at where the grill is u will see some pins on it on the top
just take them off and pull but not too hard u might break it not too sure tho if it will break
hahah

here i took a picture under the hood earlyer, where the orange circle's are, thats the pins u have to remove. then after u take it out you have to pull up on the grill and it should pop out(easy part). and all ur gona c is the bumper the lights and rad. if u want to put it back it needs two people to do this cuz its realy hard.

I check on it about once a week, and there have been a couple of places where it came loose. I just popped off the old glue, and re-tacked it. Seems to be holding up quite well after a couple of months. I will probably take it all off eventually anyways because I know something will come along that I will want to put on in its place. For now it looks pretty cool to me. I was tempted to buy that nice $200 mesh grill set on e-bay, and still might. (the set with the solid chrome border around the mesh)

r

That's the one I want to buy. Just wonder how it attaches and how well it holds. Don't want to spend that much and then have it not hold up.
