If you have been on here a while you know I was checking out on why my R/T is faster than factory posts. lol thought about it last night and checked out the drive by video on return run. Proof = Watch the timer on bottom. ok 70 yards in A/S
1/2 and 3/4 throdle. passed Tammy doing 73 MPH in 6 sec. left line at 8 sec in video passed her at 14 seconds in. so A/T shifting at 5K, 70 yards (mesured today), 73 MPH in 6 sec's. Even with small vereables that is still quicker than factory postings by 1 sec and 13 MPH. Not a lot but still enough to make you go HHHHHHMMMMMM.

I had a thought. Do you rail on it all the time? If so, your car learns your driving habits and adjusts the computer to best match the way you drive. For example, my wife enjoys her gas pedel. A lot. She averages only 21 or 22 mpg with it, which is not surprising. The surprising part is when she does take it easy and drives it nice, it still only gets 23 or 24. My guess is that the computer thinks she wants to accelerate hard, so it fuels the motor up a little more than it would for a softer driver in order to prepare itself to speed up. I don't know that for sure, but in my screwey, mixed up head it sounds pretty logical. I'm curious to take her car on a road trip, but disconnect the battery for a while before we leave. If we drive it nice on the trip, I'd bet we'd see at least a 3 mpg increase by deleting her 'performance tune'. Or maybe I'm just crazy.

Don't fight it Rich! Come to the dark side and accept the fact you have a faster R/T than what comes from the factory. I too have the same issue. I have a 2.7 that hasn't lost to another 2.7 (4 races). It's our destiny!

Just enjoy the extra performance I know I do!

Don't drive it like you stole it, drive it like your trying to catch someone who stole it. When you catch them pull them out of the car and kick the living tar out of em. Oops, sorry, I got carried away,

Ya I know about the comp and ajusting so I get on it when going on the hwy on ramps to keep comp from ajusting to soft driving. lol ya right now I get 20 MPG combo driving. That don't bother me after having a pickup and getting 15 at best lol
Well at least I have a video to back up my sayings now not that it is my emagination. lol

you could scan your avenger and record the data, then do the same with another avenger r/t. Then compare the two data sets to see if anything is different.

I wonder if they match engine parts at the factory to best fit or if they just grab and install. do some research on piston slap and gm products. to save on cost they just grab and install and some people complain about piston slapping. Either way you may have gotten lucky.

i don't think the avenger and charger are assembled at the same plant, i was at first thinking you got the 250 hp charger 3.5L
