That is the German Autobahn. Germans who have the car to do it, actually drive that fast in everyday traffic on the Autobahn. I remember the first time I drove there and was doing a modest 180 kmh (not miles), when I spotted an Audi A8 in my mirror. I thought I had enough time to overtake a truck, but boy was I wrong. The Audi driver flashed his lights, put on his big lights and the fogs and almost drove into my back. He had to give all he got on the breaks. I freaked out and pulled immediately to the right. As he passed, he gave me the finger and I saw that it was a RS version of the Audi.

You see it in the movie: the driver is approaching another vehicle which is clearly driving at a more modest speed. If you intend to go that fast, you almost have to become one with the machine. Otherwise it can be very lethal.

But: it is fun!!!
