In Connecticut we have what is called "Early Intervention", It's like pre-school in a way in elementary school. My oldest was enrolled in that. I think it's excellent. Compared to what I had in the 60's and 70's. Most kids in Middle school couldn't read etc. and it was embarrassing. I would hold my breath for this one boy when he was reading because I was praying the poor kid could get though it quick. Quiet Lunatic 09-03-2008, 06:58 PM Sounds great. They integrate the kids into the classes, which I think is so much better than singling them out in special classes. Working with the kids is definitely my favorite of the two jobs. The other just gives me more hours. Was hoping for a full-time job at the school this year, but the grant money didn't come through, so I'm still just a sub.
