I have been looking for a performance chip for my SXT with the 4cl. I have found the $300.00-500.00 programmer, but don't want to spend that much if I can avoid it. There is the $8.00 performance part that they sell on ebay and I wanted to know if this is worth my time, or should I just save my pennies.
Any experience with this part would be helpful.

Save your money and get that programmer. An $8.00 chip is just an $8.00 do nothing chip.

If that $8.00 could perform even half their of the manufacture claims, Dodge would buy them to increase the MPG and HP of their vehicles. Remember if it sounds to good to be true, go with that gut feeling because generally it is.

Those chips are pure junk. Seen the same junk for my bike. Normally all it consists of is a piece of wire and a resistor that will increase timing or something like that. The variable ones are even funnier when opened up..

Yeah, I heard of those. Some people even stated that you were buying a resistor. Funny stuff there. Save your money, and just get the programmer.
