I appreciate anyone taking the time to answer my parade of questions lol:
1) Whats the difference between an HID kit and HID conversion?
2) How long to HID lights typically last?
3) Is 8000k power too bright? Thats what they usually sell by me...
4) Is it easy to install or it it worth having a shop do it?
5) What about high beams? Are they a separate bulb people replace, meaning you need 4 HIDs? How does that work?
6) http://goautosound.com/hidkits.htm Thats what my local shop carries. Are they any good? Is the price decent?
7) How do I know which one fits my Avenger? 9006, 9007, H11, etc?
8) Do the lights in the link in #6 fit right in the Avenger without any additional parts?
Thanks.

What about this: http://hidconversionkit.net/general-hid-forum/illegal-hid-convesion-kits-explained/
So conversion kits are illegal? Is the Avenger fit for HIDs, or will I end up getting pulled over?

For all your HID supplies you need to go through Steve at who is one of our vendors. He sells a HID kit that is very easy to install and comes with all the harnesses, relays and everything you need. No need to have a local shop do it. Just look around at some of the guys that have info posted about the kits they just got. From what I have heard there is no need to replace the high beams, just the low beams. The single bulbs are more then enough light and then switching back and forth is not good on them. Go to the supporting vendor site and check out the Headlight supercenter, there are a bunch of threads on there that explain the different kinds of lights and should have all the info you need. Just try some searching.

But if you wish to wait they are coming out with the new version to help eliminate all the flicker that Dodges get when installing them.
I am going to be the first (At least I think so) to buy and try these new ones . Seems like these will be the ONLY PLUG AND PLAY type of HID's out there for Dodge (New FLASHTECH hid kits)
Read the thread here.

Hope this helps.

I agree, if you want something that is super simple to install it looks like waiting for the new kits would be the way to go.

Technically, they are illegal in our vehicles, because our headlights were not designed for HID bulbs. (First of all, they are not projector headlights, but composite.) Therefore, installing HIDs in your car has a very good chance of blinding other motorists on the road.
If you just want a bluish tint to your lights, get some blue bulbs instead.

First, Just because they are not projectors does not mean they are illegal. There are a few vehicles that came from the factory with non-projector HIDs.
Second, I have them in mine and have not once been flashed by anyone - which includes passing police officers. I used to get flashed on a regular basis using the stock low beams and fog lights. People may perceive them as brighter because of the color, but they certainly aren't "blinding." Back when manufacturers first switched to halogens, people complained all the time that "those new lights are too bright" probably because they didn't have halogens in their cars. Now every car has them and no one thinks twice about them.
Finally, I won't comment on the legality of them. Other than to say that there is no specific law stating that they are illegal - you may find some DOT opinions on the web that claim they cannot be legal because the light source and reflectors were not designed specifically for each other, but that is a gray area and hasn't been challenged in court yet. Ok, so I did comment on the legality of them... kind of.
Also driving one mile an hour of the limit is illegal.....

I've never been flashed by on coming traffic, and also have done some drive-bys with me driving the Avenger and wife in the other car and vise-verser and it didn't blind her or me in any way. Me mates do go on about how bright they are but non of them have been startled by my light beam
