Good day all,

I have a 2008 Deep Water Blue 2.4L Avenger that i loooveeee. I am always concerned about taking the best care of my car that I can. I have had it for about 16 months now and I have been trying to figure out how to chnage the air filter by the engine. I have managed to unclip the 4 clips (what a pain in the butt that was) just to find out i needed to unfasten other pieces like the black hose on the left of the air filter. Can someone please advise if this is the correct way to go about doing this? I dont want to take the wrong thing off. Any help would be a big help!

Unclasp the clips and the lid should lift right up w/o unhooking the intake hose.
At least thats how it is on the 2.7L. Looks to be the same on yours.

Thinking way back to factory air box. I am pretty sure all three motor set ups used the same 4 clips to open it up and chage the filter.

The air hose has some flex in it, so just unclip the air box lid and gently lift it enough to slip the old filter out, replacement is the reversal.
Good luck you will be alright.

I won... LOL. The one on the left is after 15,000 miles and the one on the right is 0,000 miles :-p. What a hard time i had clipping it back together is probably the hardest thing ive done all weekend. I eventually gave up and got a wrench and just squeezed the corners gently until the clips popped back together. Thanks for your help everyone.http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs280.snc1/10720_103756772972983_100000159835264_101099_50088 70_n.jpg
