just wondering what else there is out there for the 2.4 maybe a intake manifold or a larger throttle body(does 2.7,3.5 71mm fit) light weight flywheel, lsd maybe something to beef up tranny. i Know the cams and cam gears might be a while if possible with the vvt wich im doubting. is the srt4 motor much different it has to have a larger intake and throttle body dont understand if it is same motor how its done to just slap on turbo and gain 100hp so internals must be forged. would i be better off getting a totaled srt4c and just total swap including cluster, trans, comp engine/turbo, wiring and all sensors? come taxes i could buy one for 4-6k and then just swap everything onlything is idk what i would need or if anyone has done this b4 some insight would be apreciate...scared to be first but then again only srt4 avenger... why didnt dodge make it off the line like that or even srt6 super charged.

that sounds awesome the only problems I would foresee is everything fitting right I thinks its a cool idea though I want to turbo mine but so much $$. all so you would have to do body work to fit the clutch pedal and the stick
Yeah some of the internals are different though I'm not sure how many. No one has ever tried it on an Avenger though a guy put a turbo on his Caliber R/T 2.4 and used an AEM Fuel & Ignition Controller to run everything. A cheap standalone system like that is your only option for tuning. The expensive part is going to be the install and tuning of the controller.

Man best just get the Caliber SRT4 since ur gonna do all of that. Its the exact same motor but with the bigger transmission, u can slap a turbo in the slow avenger and just run low PSI. Like start off with 8 PSI and work ur way up. I would want to put a supercharger on it. That way I dont really have to but a Intercooler and run the oil into the turbo
Turbos can get expensive, I spent $5,000 building a complete engine in my eclipse, doing all the work except machining myself! Then the turbo ALONE was $2,000.
Turbos sometimes require coolant lines as well, then all the piping, intercooler, waste gate, blow off valve, injectors, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, stand alone engine management, transmission needs to be rated for the torque, clutch or high stall convertor, axles, etc.
A neon or calibler SRT-4 would probably be a better deal.
Cheapest would be a DSM, or if you want a sedan an EVO. And if you want to drag race go auto, sticks are just fun, but autos have several advantages for drag racing. Such as having boost off the line, not loosing boost every shift, etc.
In reality, I'd wait a few years, more cars are getting turbos for emissions. Most fords and GMs are getting them, Chrysler SHOULDN'T bee to far behind. Not trying to pee in your Kool-Aid, just trying to save you time and money!

Trade in your avenger for a SRT-4. Best bet.

Thanx guys, going to put this off for a bit money problems alot of things coming up then holidays so yea...sorry about the long no response also had to upgrade computer as its almost 10yrs old..lol running beast now tho. i do plan on doing this project in the future just because i like the body styling of the avenger over the caliber if i wanted a van id probably go with a chevy express from the 90s or an astro van :gy: been looking at a junked caliber n/t manual and things look about the same except shifter is in the area in front under ac controls in avenger just looks squashed forward aqward positioning if u ask me hope thats not going to be a problem when i start because the shifter would be so out of place ther...

He also blew up his engine and got an SRT4. :3-smash::gy:
