In West central GA Texaco gasoline was sell for $2.989 a gallon for regular this morning. What are you having to pay for your gasoline?

saskatoon, about $1.14 / L for midrange, roughly $4 / gal i think. fluctuates between $1.05 & $1.20+ it seems.

Its about $3.15 for 87 octane here in michigan.

Last night regular was $2.88 a gallon in Cottleville MO (west of STL) I bought E-85 instead for $2.57 a gallon.

89 is $3.65 and for my Crossfire which uses 93 is $3.89

LOL They have a reserve tank of 1 1/2-2 gallons for the idiots that try to make it to their destination without stopping for gas. My dummy light just went off when I filled up and I believe it goes off when you have 2 gallons left so there :D

Yeah there is a reserve tank, it was some article I read a while ago, when they decided to make all cars dummy proof - basically if you let it run completely empty you will still have enough gas so the engine won't choke, this was like back in 2000 or so...lol

Just so I am complete in understanding...there is a reserve tank in addition to 16.9 gallon tank? Because I run mine deep into the red and I the most I think I ever put in was about 16 gallons...maybe 16.1.

I don't know the exacts, but I had a s10 that had an extra reserve on it, how I found out is I was parked in a driveway on about a 35 degree incline...I was pretty low on gas so after I was done with this customer I was going to get gas, so I was getting ready to leave and my truck wouldn't start. Had it towed to the dealership, service guy asked me if I was parked on a hill...I said yeah why, he goes all the gas you had left over went into the reserve tank...I'm like, ok what's that mean, then he explained to me how most of the newer cars have "extra" gas as most people will get more gas after the dummy light goes on but for the ones that really push it, there is a little bit of extra gas so you can make it to get more. I found it very odd so I looked it up and found some article about it...seemed to be a major issue w/ s10's back then.

About 3.02 here some stations ive seen @ 2.99. Doesn't hurt as much to fill the Avenger hits me hard to fill our Trailblazer tho.

LOL I told you! There's like extra after the red line...they may put more now since I guess you could call it a safety feature....? lol

Yeah ours is at $3.54/gal - I have been trying all the diff. octanes lol - seems 89 is the best for gas mileage. I get 15.5/mpg w/ 93 :SHOCKED:

It's $3.03/gal today for regular around the St. Louis area. I read that we usually have the second lowest prices in the nation, next to New Jersey.

On the different octanes, there is no advantage to using anything other than what it calls for in the owner's manual, unless you've changed the timing or compression. I see that some owners have discovered that it can actually lower your fuel economy if you go above the recommended octane.

If anyone is concerned about $4/gal gas, they should rent a car for a few days in France. Last August I paid over $1.50 per liter for diesel and it was cheaper than regular gas.

That might not sound like much but after you convert from liters to gallons and figure in the euros to US dollars exchange rate of $1.45 (one euro was worth $1.45 US last August) I was paying over $8.23 per gallon.

If you look at the overall picture we're not paying even half of what fuel costs in Europe. :)

I was in Waterloo IL this weekend, and their gas was $3.23/gallon. When I got home to Saint Clair MO, 65 miles away, the gas was $2.98/gallon... I would have to say TedEbear is right on Saint Louis having some low gas prices.

It's hovering around 3.09-3.25 in minneapolis, depends on the day. My buddy just paid 4.25 for diesel in Detroit two weeks ago. He drives an F-650 with two 75 gallon tanks for work. Oh, and it gets 7 mpg.

Wow, $650 for two tanks of gas... I am guessing he is a truck driver... man 7 miles to the gallon... that sucks. At least he doesn't have to fill up for 1050 miles! woot!

$4.20 a gallon for Regular unleaded in Sudbury, Ontario!!!!!! No that's not a typo either. That's down from $4.49 a gallon last week.

Ya, "free" healthcare. Wanna change income taxes for a year??? You too can have free healthcare if your BASE tax rate is 26% of gross plus paying a 8% sales tax AND a 5% Federal taxon just about everything you buy!! If you've got a really good job the tax rate can be as high as 43% (if I'm not mistaken)!!!!

The Feds were trying to take out the IRS by getting rid of income taxes, and just charging 26% sales tax to everything. That way you get more money in your pocket, but you have to spend more on items that you use on a daily basis... Seems more like a wash to me...

Wow $5.30 a gallon...ouch! Today gas and E-85 took a 20 cent hike to $2.70 and $3.19 respectively we will probably hit the $4.00 mark locally in the next few weeks. That $100+ per barrel crude oil is coming home to roost.

I have a flex fuel Taurus and tried running E-85 last summer. By the end of the tank, my computer (which is always about 5 mpg low) was reading 8 mpg. So right in the 13 ballpark on a car that usually gets 25 in mixed driving. That, and it barely started a couple of mornings when it was in the upper 50s, and didn't idle worth a crap. My results are a little worse than most, but I'll never use E-85 in this car again...

I saw on your exhaust post that you actually get better acceleration with E-85, too. That's awesome! I wasn't bashing E, but rather saying that my Ford ran like garbage with it. I got a recall to have the computer reflashed for better starting with E-85, but it didn't say anything about improving mileage so I didn't bother bringing it in. Now I'm looking for a different car anyway, so mine will not be getting the reflash. It ran so bad with it that I did a VIN decoder online to make sure that I actually had the flex fuel engine!

That's too bad your car didn't run very well using E-85. Ford says that their cars get a 5% boost in power by using E-85. Who knows maybe the flash would fix that problem.

I think either a 3.5L Magnum or another Avenger R/T would fix my bigger problem, which is extreme boredom. Haha! Anybody want to buy a Taurus for way more than it's worth? ;)

I filled up yesterday here in the high desert for $3.39 a gallon. Only one independent station sells for less at 3.19 a gallon. My friends down in Los angeles are paying 2.70. Last week I went on a Jeep expedition thru Death Valley (only an hour from my home) and gas was 4.39 a gallon.

gas prices up here in langhorne, pa are around $2.79 for regular. Not bad considering what they used to be. I was able to fill my car up for around $36. I do wish they could go down to $2 tho. That will never happen tho. At least not for a while

It wasn't that long ago that prices were under $2, and as they climbed towards $2, everyone complained. Now we are ready to kiss the oil companies if it even gets close to $2. :4-dontknow:

Back around 1998 or 1999 my daily drive was a 1968 Chevy Chevelle. It and a built 427 with a Turbo 400 3 speed auto and a ford 9" rear end with 4.56 gears and a detroit locker. It had a 11:1 compression ratio and required premium gas and octane booster on hot days if I wanted to race it. I had a great time with that car but decided in the name of economics I could no longer pay the price for premium fuel in a car that got at best 8 to 10 mpg on a good day. Premium gas had just hit $ 1.59 and there was no way I could or would pay those outrages prices, especially when the local Arco had 87 octane at $ .99 a gallon. I now have my (I remember when) stories to tell my kids some day.

Gas has dropped 9 cents in 24 hours, to $2.59, here in Bullhead City. IF it keeps fallin, I might have to seriously think about dusting off the ol 350 S-10 and kruize it a bit!!

I'm paying ~$2.45 for 89 in southern Ohio. I have a 150 mile round trip commute every day so I'm thrilled not to be aping the 4+ dollars for it.

I bought E85 for $1.79 and regular was going for $2.19. The low prices are great too bad companies are going bankrupt...except for oil companies.

Here in the Uk diesel fuel is £1.07 per litre( $7.85 per gallon) and petrol is £0.95 per litre ($6.90 per gallon).which is the lowest it has been for about 6mths.

We're sitting around $2.43/gallon. Buffalo has some of the highest prices in the country, and we've yet to be given a reason why.

My usual station went from $2.29 to $2.59 over night. I about freaked when I pulled in to fill up tonight.

We went from $1.85 to $1.91 As long as it's under $2 I'm happy. My S-10 has a 20 gal fuel cell, so once it get's over $2 it's pricey to fill.

Our prices just went from 2.37 to 2.49 overnight at the private owned stations. 2.59 at the big boys. But i have no fear of rising prices since I opted for the 2.99 gas card when I purchased my Avenger last memorial day when prices here were over 4.50 a gallon. That card has been sitting unused for too long. Bring on the busy summer driving season and rising fuel costs. I am ready.:gy:
