Looks like your K&N oil filter user. My preference is Wix.

Wix? Never heard of them. More research to do.

I have not seen any made that would fit. It seems like oil filters are becoming smaller since engine sizes have decreased over the years. If you know of one that will fit, let us know.

Well I just finished changing the oil for the first on the car.
I used Mobil 1 fully syn. 5-20w extended. For the oil filter, I used a Mobil 1
M1-210 on the car and it worked great. As I said before, I have the 2.4
engine. The filter is for the 3.5. It is about 25% larger.

What is the need for a larger filter?? I never understood why people would want a larger filter...

I can only think of two reasons. Larger oil filter will increase the oil capacity of the engine and more filter media to filter the oil. The increase oil capacity is only marginal at the most. The increase size of the filtering media sounds like it should justify some merit but just change your oil filter on a regular basis.

It would be like an air filter in your home a/c: with the better filter to catch the smaller particals, the air has to be pushed harder because the pores are smaller. You up the size of the filter so that the a/c fan does not have to work so hard, thus taking stress off of the fan motor using less horse power. Same for the oil pump.

Plus now you use the whole 5 quarts, not leaving part of a container over.
