I found this information on another forum but it may be vital for some.

If this info. was helpful, feel free to hit the rep button ;-)

All this stuff is in the users manual but I figured I would post them here as a lot of people dont read all of the manual because its so big.

Non Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) - Customer Programmable Features

Remote Key Unlock, Driver Door/All Doors First:

transmitter for at least four seconds, but not longer than
ten seconds. Then, press and hold the UNLOCK button
while still holding the LOCK button.
2. Release both buttons at the same time.
3. Test the feature while outside of the vehicle, by
pressing the LOCK/UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter
with the ignition in the LOCK position, and the key
removed.

Flash Lights with Lock:
1. Press and hold the UNLOCK button on a programmed
transmitter for at least four seconds, but not longer than
ten seconds. Then, press and hold the LOCK button
while still holding the UNLOCK button.
2. Release both buttons at the same time.
3. Test the feature while outside of the vehicle, by
pressing the LOCK/UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter
with the ignition in the LOCK position, and the key
removed.

Sound Horn with Lock:
1. Press the LOCK button on a programmed transmitter
for at least four seconds, but not longer than ten seconds.
Then, press the PANIC button while still holding the
LOCK button.
2. Release both buttons at the same time.
3. Test the feature while outside of the vehicle, by
pressing the LOCK button on the transmitter with the
ignition in the LOCK position, and the key removed.

Express Down Windows Feature:
press and release the UNLOCK button on the transmitter and then
immediately press and hold the UNLOCK button until
the windows lower to the level desired or until they
lower completely.

Automatic Unlock Doors On Exit:
1. Close all doors and place the key in the ignition.
2. Cycle the ignition switch between LOCK and ON and
then back to LOCK four times ending up in the LOCK
position.
3. Depress the power door unlock switch to unlock the
doors.
4. Repeat these steps if you want to return this feature to
its previous setting.

Disable BeltAlert (Seat Belt Chimes):
NOTE: The following steps must occur within the first
60 seconds of the ignition switch being turned to the ON
or START position. DaimlerChrysler does not recommend
deactivating Beltalert.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position and
buckle the driver’s seat belt.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and wait
for the Seat Belt Warning Light to turn off.
3. Within 60 seconds of turning the ignition switch to the
ON position, unbuckle and then re-buckle the driver’s
seat belt at least three times within 10 seconds, ending
with the seat belt buckled.
NOTE: Watch for the Seat Belt Warning Light to turn on
while unbuckling and off while re-buckling the seat belt.
It may be necessary to retract the seat belt partially each
time when unbuckling.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position. A
single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully
completed the programming.

NOTE: Your dealer can set many other features for you that are unaccessable through manual user programming.

Not all the Avengers have that feature. Unfortunately! I don't have it either. Check your window sticker if you still have it. If you don't go to your dealer and ask the service adviser to pull the options up. (or ask for a function 14) That should tell you all the options on your vehicle. YOU NEED TO HAVE YOUR VIN WITH YOU.

That may be a feature with the RT only, I know it works in my car. I wish they had an auto up too... but yet auto down is good enough

auto up is a major safety issue so it wouldnt ever be a option to have

With Anti-Pinch, I have no idea why auto up would be an issue. The car already comes with auto-up in the switch pack anyways, so why not a remote auto up?

fails , something gets caught and you cant get it out. reaction panic

I'm not questioning the what would happen if something fails. But it already CAN happen. If my dog is sticking his head out the passenger side window and I hit the auto-up for that window and anti-pinch fails to work, then dogs head gets pinched.

What I was getting at is , since we ALREADY have auto-up from the switch pack, and thats obvisously not a safety concern (because we have it) then why not a remote auto up feature?

Thats where I was going with it. Theres really no safety issue since auto-up is already available using other methods (re:switchpack).

I thought if you put the key in the door lock cylinder and hold it in the lock position it would auto close all the windows?

I loved having the auto close feature via key fob on my 02 Audi A4. I used it a lot when forgetting to close the windows on a cool day after I had gotten out of the car. It was also handy if you had your sunroof cracked and it started to rain. You just had to be within remote range to close it, which was often attainable inside work/home.

great! been wanting to get rid of the annoying honk for a while now. Had to lock the door by hand when it's late at night lol

I love the honk, it makes me remember that I locked it. The auto up feature would be nice, but let's not get greedy. I love all the adjustable features that the avenger comes with. I can sit and fiddle with that car all day!

I like hearing the honk of the horn so I know it is locked too, but ours Avengers horn is just too loud so I had to disable it. When I have a show and get home real late at night (or early morning technically) I am afraid of freaking out my dogs and ticking off the neighbors.

Thats how I was too, then I reenabled it. To hell with the neighbors! lol.

I wish they had one of those little chirpers in there for acknowledgement instead of the horn!

the back ones have auto up/down???

Quiet Lunatic
03-05-2008, 06:28 PM
Yeah Dave, what's up with that. I have auto-down on all 4 and auto up only on the front, but in order to have the remote put down the windows, it only does the front 2, not the back 2 because I think the back windows need to have auto-up. Does your remote put all 4 down?

My bad. I must have poor memory. I only did it once to check it out. Somehow I remember it doing all four, but I just checked, and it is just the front.
I corrected my post above so I don't add futher confusion.

I love my remote start....I think I used the remote window down just once so far, but it hasn't been all that warm yet to get a gauge on how often I may use it..

Not with the remote, I'm talking with the door panel. If you press it down like the front ones, they go down automatically, but there is no auto up on them, that you have to hold the button up to put them up.

AvengerRT
03-07-2008, 10:37 AM
Thats exactly what I mean. I have no auto down in the rear on my door panel. Either I should, or you shouldn't. If you shouldn't I'd probably like to get a part number of that module and order one.

If I should I will probably go kick my dealer in the ass for more than one reason now.

It's just the fronts on mine as well, I checked my window sticker and it only says the fronts as express up/down so it's not your dealer. I guess he has a freak. :p
