Hey gang I was directed here from a Facebook group although I've been lurking here since I got my avenger.

I've replaced everything minus the transmission itself and I still can't get it to change gears (automatic).

Now I'm thinking I would rather convert it to manual at this point. I'm no stranger to Mitsubishi and have converted many Evo vr4 and legnum to manual. Actually the motor is what drew me to the avenger.

Happy to finally have joined guys hope I can contribute here

Now I don't need help with the conversion it's not hard what I need to confirm is that the lancer transmission has the same bolt pattern as the avenger or did dónde change something?

Welcome to the forum! Good luck with the conversion, don't think anyone here has done one. One of the Euro members with a manual may be able to help.

Well as it looks like I'm alone in this experiment haha. So far I can say the shifter fits perfectly under the console but none of the holes line up I needed to drill and use rivnuts. The shifter cables pass under the airbag module with no problems. Clutch fits like OEM just needs trimming and shortening. Keep in mind I live in Mexico and mine is an export vehicle so has the studs and holes already for the clutch pedal I've been told the usdm ones don't.

If you didn't know, the Avenger came with a Diesel stick shift in Europe. So parts for the conversion are available and the provisions are on the chassis for a manual transmission. If they will work with the swap your doing I can't say for sure since no one has really done it in the states as far as I know.
