Not sure if this is a repost, if so I apologize.
There are some many rumors that it's hard to know the real story. Now there some talk of maybe a rear wheel drive in 2022:
Rumor mill's, I have seen NO outright advertising of a return yet. And one would think that a return of the name would be WELL publicised. We shall "wait and see"!..
But pictures are absolutely hilarious exactly what comes to mind is "if they mated" and having Avenger as a dad and Caliber as a mother.
And it has 4 wheel drive?? Haha
Well that looks familiar...
Quite usefull concept since it brought out 2 cars allthought I am happy that this grille went to caliber and not avenger. And same for rear windows too.
No wonder it brought those two in mind!
If they redo the Avenger, I want it to have TWO doors. Please kill the sports sedan idea and give us two door critters that go RAWWWWWRRRRRRRRR!
I'm not a fan, i like the 2010s avenger
I keep hearing 2022 and they will make the car a rear wheel drive. I would like to see a manual transmission option as well.
The Avenger already has a manual option.....export only behind a diesel though.........
Yes..Isn't that a shame!.. What could have/should have been, but then so much more difficult to incorporate all those traction/stability programmings the sedans have!
- Dodge ditched the Dart and is now missing a small to midsize sedan. Would be nice to bring the Avenger back with a complete redesign. Maybe SRT inspired?
I doubt that we will see the Avenger name plate again, FCA has now confirmed and killed the Dart and Chrysler 200 models and moving towards more cross overs and trucks The Chrysler 200 would have done well had the pricing been right and been offered in Australia! we love medium sized V6 Powered cars!
The closest we came to seeing a Dodge Avenger name would have been a Re-badged Chrysler 200.
- I doubt they’re gonna completely forget about the midsize segment. For all the Dodge enthusiasts not everyone wants just big body cars, SUV’s, and trucks. With all the midsize performance vehicles that the general population buys Dodge can’t ignore that. I’m assuming they’re designing a midsize sedan behind the scenes that will destroy all other brands. Dodge is great at producing the best when they want.
I.e. The Viper ACR Aero, is a purpose built track car. No other American built car has beaten its Nurburgring time, and its natuarally aspirated.
The Demon, purpose built drag car, what other production car can beat that car in a 1/4 mile ? None.
Durango SRT ?!! Speechless! Lol
I don't like TRUCKS, That is why I have had MOPAR Minivans for almost a quarter century!...LOL
The business case we put forward to get the Dart and 200 in Australia was declined as they advised the future of FCA is to focus on Trucks and SUV as this is where the $$$ is! FCA has the Alfa models for mid sized sedans (not everyone taste i agree) and the small SUV's for people who want smaller cars (Jeep renegade / Fiat 500X)
They have even declined the Business case to get the Charger and Challenger in RHD setup, only case we got approved was the SRT Chrysler 300 because of Holden and Ford removing all RWD / large V8 models in 2018
- That is true. Perhaps a concept could be constructed to maybe stir up conversation. That would be, INTERESTING!
IF they do, I surely hope it is in a COUPE(2dr.) configuration!..LOL
I never liked Trucks either. I have had 2 Trucks a 99 GMC and a 2001 Dodge Ram sport. Had the Dodge around the time gas was $4 plus a gallon as we all remember and it had the magnum 360. I actually traded that for the Avenger I have now. I assume the new trucks get better gas mileage than they did back in the day but that is why I steer clear of em because I take a lot of long trips. Just hard on my wallet. If I need one to haul something I borrow my fathers lol.
