I have read every possible comment on this engine and I am at a loss. I have an engine tick in my 3.5 liter engine when I get on the gas and it gets louder once the RPM’s come down. It happens between 1,800 and 2,500 RPM.

I have changed rocker arms front and back. New fuel injectors all the way around. I just got my water pump and timing belt and tensioner replaced yesterday. I have tried every additive that I can think of and even some that I can’t. (Injector cleaner, engine cleaner, fuel cleaner, motor honey....).

I am at a loss and I could really use some help. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

The lifters are part of the rocker arm. I didn’t think about the exhaust. Would it make that ticking sound like metal on metal?

Wasn’t sure if they were part of the rocker arm, I haven’t done them on our 3.5 only my 3.6. Maybe post a video of the sound?

Have you checked accessory parts like alt. and p/s pump and a/c compressor?
From your post I take it that noise can be heard while in park also and not just while driving?

I checked on the external parts and it didn’t fix the problem. It sounded like the sound is coming from the fuel rails or injectors. I can take a video later if that would help.
