My son has been having issues with A/C. We are under the impression that there is a leak. We fill it up with refrigerant and it works great, but it dissipates within the next couple of days.

We put more in it and looked through UV glasses and a black light flashlight
IMG-0467.JPG . We did not find much but a smudge on the tubing (see pic) Could this be the leak?

Could very well be. It only takes a tiny leak to lose refrigerant.

If that shot is from behind the radiator, I would more closely inspect the condenser mounted ahead of the radiator. Not very common for piping to fail unless punctured. And check the a/c drain for dye, the evaporator is inside the HVAC box and has been known to spring a leak there also.
Good luck in tracking the leak down and let us know what you find.
