I've have a 2009 Avenger with the 2.7L engine, only 76,000KM. A large branch fell on the front left fender and wheel during a snowstorm and when I started the car it was misfiring with P0300 error code. Could the impact to the wheel and possible drive shaft have possibly caused this? What should I check first, spark plugs, fuses, fuel injectors?

It could always be a coincidence this happened at the same time. The coils are known to go bad along with the injectors though. The 2.7's are also known to start throwing codes because of the timing chain which is the number one killer for the 2.7.
My recommendation is to clear the code and see how long it takes to come back while listening for strange engine noises. Hopefully its nothing major....
My R/T with a 3.6 throws a P0300 occasionally as I don't have my injectors tuned correctly and when I have a drastic temperature change outside, running E50 fuel, the pcm doesn't like it and it misses a little bit

Thanks for responding. Turns out that a spark plug change was all that was required.
