Hello new to this forum. I bought my uncles 2010 2.4L R/T. It a 4 calendar and I figured this be a good hobby to get into and save. So with that said, I had a flashing engine light, and it told me of a cylinder misfire from AutoZone. Not much detail but ok. found out after replacing all the spark plugs and coil packs, that they never been replaced so,with that done the engine light came back sold. I know how to get the injectors off the fuel rail as the fuel rail is on the top front of the engine in plain sight. But what I need help is the fuel line is pressurized or it feels like it. There's this clamp connecting the hose to the fuel rail. Can I unclip that or is their some procedure I need to do to get the pressure down before disconnecting. I know to disconnect the negitive terminal as my battery behind the wheel. thanks.

Release the fuel pressure, refer to the fuel pressure release procedure.

1. Remove fuel fill cap.
2. Remove lower rear seat cushion.

1. Remove the fuel pump module cover (1).

FUEL PUMP MODULE CONNECTION

1. Disconnect electrical connector (2) form fuel pump module (1).
2. Start and run engine until it stalls.
3. Attempt to restarting engine a few times until the engine will no longer start.
4. Turn ignition key to OFF position.
5. Disconnect negative battery cable.
6. Place a shop towel below and disconnect the fuel line quick-connect fitting (3) at fuel pump module (1)

Then for the injectors:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors.

FUEL LINE AT RAIL

1. Fuel line connection at fuel rail.

​

FUEL LINE CONNECTION

1. Remove the fuel line from the fuel rail.

​

HARNESS CLIPS

1. Remove wire harness from fuel rail mounting studs.

​

ELECTRICAL HARNESS REMOVED

1. Remove the 2 bolts to the fuel rail at the lower manifold.

RAIL REMOVAL/INSTALL

1. Remove the fuel rail.

​

FUEL RAIL ASSEMBLY

1. Remove clip holding fuel injector to fuel rail.

​

FUEL INJECTOR AND RAIL

1. Remove fuel injector clip and fuel injector from fuel rail.

Wow thank you so much. But I disconnected the wire from the fuel pump and when I turn the key it just studders and it didn't even run at all. The lines are still pressurized. If I try to turn on it just cranks. And my battery will die if I keep trying that. So I heard I can try to run the car dry? Till it does and then open the lines? Thank you for your time
