Just bought a 2012 SXT Plus that was a rental car and has been VERY well mantained..... I have noticed since I got that every once in a while it smells like a coolant odor coming through the vents. I haven't found any leaks, my levels are good, there is no film or mist on the windshield, and carpet is not wet or damp, so other than the odor, everything seems normal..... and I will smell it momentarily and then it goes away..... it does it mainly when the the temp is at regular running Temps (about when the thermostat would kick in) Just curious if anyone else has had this issue or if anybody knows anything about it....
Just be careful. The coolant smell inside the car is usually a sign that the heater core is leaking. It may not be leaking much now, but it may eventually start to leak more and more.
