Do you own your car or do you have a note on it? If you’re prepared to take a bath when trading it in and probably being upside down on the payment for the r/t then trade away. The trade-in value on these cars is horrible.

    You'll love it!
I would sell my existing car privately. Just as brannigan said, you might get screwed on a trade in.

That's one of the main reasons dealerships make money... Get trade-ins way under value and sell them for a nice profit.

IMO its never worth it to take a loss on a car unless its a really bad lemon. In your case trading an Avenger for another Avenger wouldn't be worth it...Regardless of what model you have the value just isn't there on these cars. Just my opinion though.

    - Yeah, that makes sense. I’m in a position where I really want another car. But, just not financially sound at the moment... ahhh patience!

I thought about trading mine in a few times but ultimately decided it wasn’t worth it...and I have a v6.

If you can swing it financially, I would suggest that you consider a Charger with the V6. My wife has a '13 Chrysler 200 (4 cylinder), which is the Avenger's twin. I have a '15 Charger Rallye with the V6. The performance difference is like night and day (0-60 in just over 6 seconds). Suprisingly, I get better gas mileage (34mpg on the highway) with my Charger than my wife does with her 200. I've been very happy with my Charger. I haven't had it back to the dealer once, in the almost 3 years I've owned it.
