First disconnect your negative terminal at the jump post. You don't have to disconnect at the battery. Then follow the attched instructions to remove:

Removal
2.4L

WARNING
DO NOT place fingers in or around the throttle body plate. If the throttle body is energized, the throttle plate could move causing personal injury. Always disconnect the negative battery cable prior to servicing the throttle body.

CAUTION
DO NOT move the throttle plate while power is connected to the throttle body. This may cause fault codes to set.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the throttle body air intake hose.
  3. Disconnect the throttle body electrical connector (1) from the throttle body (2).

  4. Remove the throttle body support bracket bolt (2).
  5. Remove four bolts (1), throttle body bracket (3) and throttle body (4) from the intake manifold.

    NOTE
Inspect the intake manifold to throttle body gasket (2) for damage. Inspect the j-nuts for damage or excessive wear. Replace as necessary.

  6. Inspect the four j-nuts (1) for damage or excessive wear, remove if necessary.
  7. Inspect the intake manifold to throttle body gasket (2) for damage, remove if necessary.

No, brake cleaner will damage rubber and plastic components.
