I have a 2012 avenger 3.6L. I've been having issues with this car and through diagnosing I found the timing chain is off 1 link on both sides. I was wondering if the timing could be done with the engine in vehicle or if it needs to be pulled out. Thanks

I don't know how much better clearance your 2012 may have than my '96. I carefully measured a few strategic locations and used a holesaw to cut access ports through the fender well so I could get sockets on some of the bolts. Caulked and bolted fender washer covers over the holes when done & gave them a touch of paint. The picture illustrates how a straight length of wire in the little notches of the cam sprockets works wonders for checking relative positions.
