Hi All,

Car: 2009 Dodge Avenger RT 2.4 L, 80 K miles

Im having this issue thats getting progressivley worse over the past 6 months. Where I go to start the car, and it has an extended crank while cold, but will start. And then will start up fine, even a few mins later. It runs fine as well, took it on a 200 mile trip, no issues.

Not throwing any codes. New battery and altenator. I got the starter, battery, and algernator tested and they said its fine.

I tried turning the key and waiting 10 secs a few times. And then starting, but it makes no difference.

Any thoughts? I was going to bring it in, but figure they will reccomend a new fuel pump.

Thanks for any advice!

Could very well be the fuel pump. It needs more pressure on start up. It's not a difficult job that you can do yourself, it can be accessed from under the back seat. Has the car had regular maintenance, might be time for a plug change, filters, and TB cleaning?
