I have recently bought an avenger 2.0l diesel, 2008 reg.

Have used it with no problems at all until 2 days ago when it wouldn't start, I thought it was a one off problem but again today the car wouldn't start. I've tested battery drain and I'm getting 256ma drain, I have removed all the fuses one at a time and still getting the high drain, I have also disconnected the alternator and still high drain. The last thing I can think of trying is to remove the starter motor cables. Any advice would be fantastic and I will update on how it goes with the starter motor.

That is always frustrating, I feel your pain. There are some great videos on Youtube if you search for parasitic drain. It an take a bit of time and patience to find the problem. Good luck.

I have watched all those. Tried everything I can think of and still can't find the problem.

I have since noticed the back passenger door makes a noise as if it's locking again 30 seconds after locking the car. It has also started to trigger the alarm at the same time as the noise happens.
