I have an 2008 R/T with the EVIC computer and get oil changes about every 4000 miles.

I have never seen this light/message.

This is right from my 09 owner's manual...

CHAngE OIL​

Your vehicle is equipped with an engine oil change
indicator system. The “CHAngE OIL” message will flash
in the instrument cluster odometer for approximately
12 seconds after a single chime has sounded to indicate
the next scheduled oil change interval. The engine oil
change indicator system is duty cycle based, which
means the engine oil change interval may fluctuate​

dependent upon your personal driving style.

My driving style pretty spirited (I'm normally the first off at any red light).
I use conventional oil and at 3000 miles it doesn't look that bad, but it is normally down about a quart. The dealership says that is normal for the 3.5L
