12 Avenger SXT + with a drooping headliner?

I took delivery on my brand spanking new car about three weeks ago. Immediately my fiancé noticed that the headliner wasn't snapped to t he roof, by the back windshield. It look like the two black circular clips aren't clipped. We were both worried about breaking the headliner, if we put pressure on the clips ourselves, so back to the dealer. They kept it for half a day, the car also came with a pretty bad paint chip, which theY fixed that same day.

When I came to pick up the car, the dealer said the headliner drooping is a factory defect. They would have to order a new headliner from the factory, which could take about two weeks to come in. They also said it could take a few days to instal, in which case I would be given a rental. My main concern is that when they replace the headliner, the rest of the car will have to be taken apart. I am really worried about seeing marks from where the sunroof rim, sunroof controls, and visors will be removed.

I have done a lot of Googling, and I have not found anyone with this factory defect. Has this happen to anyone else? How did it turn out?

My '12 R/T was in pristine condition inside & out. I haven't heard (read) any prior mention (post) of any such defect.

Sounds a little questionable to me but at least your dealer is gonna take care of it and cover your rental. Maybe the defect is a wink-wink nudge-nudge kinda thing so they can cover your rental.

Just a thought.

my 2011 Heat has this same issue since day 1 when i bought it. none of the dealerships i took it to could understand why the headliner was drooping.
i got tired of hearing the dealership bs, so i basically just pushed really hard on the 2 pins/clips and snapped it into place. it's better but it still doesn't sit right, but at least it doesn't have the huge droop spot like before.

2011venger, thanks for the post. They dealer said service tried to fix it, but here is a part missing, which makes it a factory defect. I hope they can fix it, so far they have been great. I am just worried this will continue to be a problem, or it will be noticeable that everything was ripped out of the car. I will post and let you know how it went.

It wasn't too noticeable from the outside, but it was all I could see in the rear view mirror. I just dropped it off today. They said it should be done in two days, I will post when it is done. Please let me know how yours turns out.

Yours will get fixed before mine. So let me know how it turns out. I replied to you in my thread.

Update: Two weeks ago they replaced the headliner, it looks better but not perfect. I was disappointed, they took pictures and sent them back to Dodge. Dodge replied that since it is not a safety issue, they will not replace it again. They will replace it if it falls down or gets a lot worse. I don't think this should have been a problem in the first place! The car should have never left inspection looking like this, and to be honest, had I known this would have been an issue, and if they had more in stock, I would not have accepted the car at delivery. The dealer seems to be telling the truth, they have been fair and upfront from the beginning. Pretty much Dodge doesn't see replacing this again as being worth the money. The dealer stated that it is almost impossible to replace without bending the headliner a bit, even with taking out the seats. I understand that's, I am not unreasonable, this just sucks.I am also concerned that this might be the best I could get, that maybe if they did it again, it would look worse. I will always notice the dip when looking in the rearview, though no one has ever noticed while in my car.

call chrysler or send them an e-mail through there owners portal and complain that it is still broke and tell them what you were told, and you will be surprized at how fast it will get fixed.
