My friends last thursday on my way back to work during my lunch, I somehow lost control of my avenger (no alchohol involved) not sure what happend becaused i dont remember a thing, First think I rememeber was waking up talking to 2 paramedics telling me how they were going to get me out and I was going to be ok! It was a mess my friends but that car we own saved my life that day, I truly believe it (also with the help from someone from above) it crumpled in all the rigth places, basically wrapping me inside the car like a cocoon, the only problem the had was that my tibia and fibula had compound fractured right about the ankle, this is my first chance to speak about this accident in a public forum (my lovely wife brought me a laptop to use). I just want to thank everyone of those people out there that risk their lives in order to save a total stranger, with no fear for themselves. God bless you and all of your families. I owe my life to these people and consider them family forever. I also want to thank Dodge because i truly believe they built a superior car when it comes to saftey and i wanted to let all my friends here know that we drive a totally safe car
For me i have about 12 weeks of recovery so i cant get back to work and back on the golf course, wish my luck.

PS I can tell you that Dodge will be my next car purchase!!

I will post some pics later of the car when i get a chance to upload hem.!accident article

god bless

Here's hoping that your recovery goes well.

I have noticed that the few accidents reported to us by members have all resulted in few injuries to the passengers.

I just noticed the link to the article on phillyburbs website.... but that says the man was trapped in his minivan.

yes thats the right article, i was a little embarrased about that myself, that paper tends to report things with out all the facts. trust me its par for the course for them lol

Thank you all for you well wishes, i really just posted it on here just to show that this car is one of the safest on the market and that Americans still build a good car, as we all know!

Hey man, you scared the vavoom out of me! I am so happy you are alive and well, good enough to post here. Lucky it wasn't your time yet. And of course thank the Avenger for being such a safe transport. As Dave said, we have a few member around who lived to tell...

Get well soon mate!

You were in that pile of metal? OMG. Indeed, scary stuff. Must be hard for you to look at.
I was told that it is very important to get driving as soon as possible after such a crash.

By the way: in the back of the first picture, there is a blue convertible with what looks like a lantern sticking out of it? Not to get off topic here, but I just noticed.

I just noticed the latern myself LOL

It was hard to look at, at first but Its getting eaiser each time, putting it on here has helped me I think! I will visit the site of the accident as soon as I can drive again, sure it will be emotional but its something I have to face I believe. I will be driving my "New Avenger" as soon as I am able to go out and pick one!

I am glad to hear that you made it through all that with relatively minor injuries, considering the looks of the pictures.
Have to say that when I got in my Avenger today those pictures kept running through my mind, and I had this odd feeling of security sitting there in the drivers seat.

Thanks for posting those pitures, I can't imagine it was easy for you to look at them yourself yet.

I wish you a very quick and problem free recovery!!!
