Tire valve stem

i went to my local tire shop... was gong to put on some winter tires... they want to charge me to change my valves .. they said that i have tire montoring system and these need to be changed when i change my tires .... i know from the past with reg rims they told me the same but i never did them... but do i nned to have this done with this system,,, i never had a car that had this so this is new to me... thanks

Although I have never had to change my tires yet. My mates 300c has the similar valves and he's changed his tires 4 times now and still on the original valves, just tell the tire shop to be very careful in that area and you will be fine.

P.S. tin mana If the light is constantly on you have a faulty TPMS Valve, maybe damaged by the tire shop.

Zonestar is correct when I just had my tires put on I paid for the rebuild kit as well. It will prevent the valve stems from leaking. :smileup:

I have the TPM system and just put new snow tires and rims on my car without the TPM valve stems. Everytime i start my car is makes a "ding" sound and one of the lights is always lit up on the dash. other then that no other issues with it.
Although I have never had to change my tires yet. My mates 300c has the similar valves and he's changed his tires 4 times now and still on the original valves, just tell the tire shop to be very careful in that area and you will be fine.

P.S. tin mana If the light is constantly on you have a faulty TPMS Valve, maybe damaged by the tire shop.
